COURSE RATIONALE

As technology has helped to create a global society, the study of world history is of utmost importance.  By examining world history, students will understand the foundations of government and cultural identity with the goal of making them active global citizens.  Beginning with the Renaissance, students will explore world geography, politics, economics, literature, art, and people in order to better understand the contemporary world.  There will also be an emphasis placed on the development and maintenance of social studies skills.
