PROCEDURES
ENTERING THE CLASSROOM
-
Students will take their seats and begin to set up their notes by writing the lesson title and essential questions for the day.
-
Students will copy their homework assignment from the board, which will always be located on the far right-hand side
-
Students who are not in their seats and working on the “TO DO” assignment at the sound of the bell will be marked tardy
WHEN I NEED YOUR ATTENTION
-
The 3 count
TURNING IN ASSIGNMENTS
-
Assignments are turned in with your name, date, and period in the upper right corner
-
The assignment should be labeled on the top line on the left-hand side of the paper (i.e. – pg. 343 Qsts 1-6)
-
The grades of all major projects will be reduced one letter grade for each day late.

ABSENCES
-
If you know in advance that you will be absent, please talk to me to get upcoming assignments
-
Students with excused absences will have two days for each day of absence to makeup any work or tests. In the case of an unexcused absence, no opportunity will be given for makeups and the student will receive a “0” as a grade.
-
Students can also pick up handouts in the class’s designated folder
LEAVING THE CLASSROOM
-
If you need to leave the room for an emergency, ask the teacher at an appropriate time.
-
The teacher will dismiss the class, NOT the school bell.
CONSEQUENCES
Failure to abide by these procedures will result in the following:
-
1st offense – Warning
-
2nd offense – 15 minutes after school
-
3rd offense – 30 minutes after school, discipline referral, and parents are notified
-
SEVERE DISRUPTION – Student sent immediately to his/her grade administrator
CHEATING
Cheating is not limited to tests and quizzes. Cheating also includes copying another student’s homework.
Plagiarism is another form of cheating. In addition to “cutting and pasting” from the Internet, plagiarism is also defined as taking someone else’s work or ideas and claiming it as your own. Simply using the thesaurus function on Word will not protect you. Your best defense against plagiarism is to include citations.
